Nothing is printed on this blanket. The cables and diamonds are pressed into the pile itself, so the pattern is made of height and shadow rather than ink. You find it with a hand before you find it with your eyes.

That is why it keeps looking like this. There is no layer sitting on top of the cloth to wear thin where you sit, and the color is rated grade four for fastness. It goes in the machine on a cold, delicate cycle, which is the difference between a blanket you use and one you are careful with.

Warm without the weight of a duvet

Sherpa holds air in the curl of the pile rather than working by thickness, and that is where the warmth comes from. It is why a blanket this light is still worth pulling up. Two layers also means it hangs properly instead of sliding off a knee, which is most of what is wrong with a single-layer throw.

It is a fall and winter blanket and it goes wherever the cold gets you. Across the end of a made bed. Over the back of a sofa, over your legs in a chair by the window, or folded into a bag for a long car journey.

Which of the three sizes to pick

Small is the one-person size. It is the throw you keep on a reading chair or over the arm of the sofa, and it covers your legs without pooling on the floor.

Medium fits a single or a twin bed across its full width, and it is also the one to choose if two of you share a sofa and neither wants to negotiate.

Large is the bed size. It covers a double or a queen properly and hangs down both sides, instead of stopping level with the mattress.

Care

Machine wash it in cold water on a delicate cycle, on its own.

No bleach and no harsh detergent, and keep it away from other colors in the wash. Tumble dry it on low heat or hang it to dry, and let it dry all the way through before you fold it away.
