Gold on one side and a deep blue-gray on the other, with the ginkgo drawn right across both. Turn it over on the bed and you have a different room.
A bed is the largest thing in the room and it sets the color of everything else in there. For most of the year it stays exactly what it was the year before.
Two faces, and neither of them is the back
On the Mustard, one side is a warm golden yellow with the ginkgo leaves drawn across it in blue, rose and green. The other is a deep blue-gray carrying the same leaves picked out in gold. The Pink does the same thing in a dusty rose against a quieter gray-blue.
Both faces are patterned all the way over and both run into the same bound edge. There is no lining and no plain reverse to hide.
The gray binding is what you notice up close
A band of gray cotton wraps every edge, folded over both faces and held down with a line of cross stitch, and the corners are mitered rather than gathered into a lump. It is a small thing and it is the first thing you see when the quilt is folded.
Six layers of cotton, and no filling at all
The surface is combed cotton and so is the inner layer, with a blend of cotton and soy protein fiber worked through the interlayer between them. The whole stack is stitched through, so it lies flat on a bed rather than gathering into the corners.
Full, Queen or King
Full sits across a double with a little to spare. Queen hangs down both sides of one, and King goes on a king bed and reaches toward the floor. The King is Mustard only, which is worth knowing before you fall for the Pink.
