It flattens, thins at the folds, and the day you notice is the day you stop using it. A duvet is warm because it is thick. The gaps in the weave let moisture move straight out through the cloth, so the warmth stays where you want it and the clamminess never arrives. In August you sleep under it with nothing else. Queen goes across a double at full width with an overhang down each side, which is the one to choose if it is going to be the blanket you actually sleep under.
